Environement

LUG's AIM is to implement ecological technologies in the production process in such a way as to minimise pollution. The LUG luminaires production process has been organised in such a way as to eliminate factors posing a danger to the environment. This has been managed even in the case of those production stages which can usually pose a great danger to the environment and people.

LACQUERING

Lacquering luminaires is a process where the danger stems from the use of chemicals which greatly affect living organisms. In ordinary paint shops, before lacquering, a solvent is sprayed onto the surface to be lacquered, so as to degrease it and ensure a good coverage with paint. The spraying process involves considerable pollution of the surroundings (not all of the preparation sprayed on will end up on the surface to be lacquered).

SPECIAL FILTERS

Production of the steel sheet casing – at this stage, during grinding and welding, dust and pollution arises which could get into the environment; however, at LUG, special filters and an air recuperation system are in use, ensuring that the dust remains within the factory. It is caught up and removed from the air so as not to harm LUG’s work force.

ROBOT

A robot being used to automatically wire luminaires has replaced the position worked by staff, thus reducing their exposure to air pollution by chemical substances given off during welding. In choosing the equipment, much attention was devoted to ensuring that the release of those substances was reduced to a maximum, and so a version was chosen which has an additionally lined working chamber.

LED COMPONENTS

In 2013 a LED components production line was launched. Despite many products available on the market carrying out electronic component production tasks, LUG decided on the highest-quality emission-less and waste-less equipment, making it possible to minimise the quantity of chemical substances used, in this case adhesive.

In the scientific research centre currently being built in the Technology and Science Park in Zielona Góra, the equipment will be selected with equal attention. At each stage of the production cycle it is intended to meet the high standards of environmental protection.
