In the second quarter of 2019, the Trade Inspection carried out a market control of 192 luminaires. Its purpose was to assess whether the luminaires placed on the market meet the requirements set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Development of 2 June 2016 on requirements for electrical equipment and to eliminate those non-compliant requirements from trading, as well as to check whether the obligations specified in Act of 13 April 2016 on conformity assessment and market surveillance systems, including formal non-compliance.

The Electric Market Index recorded its fourth consecutive month of decline, ending July with 4.8 percent under the line. For the first time in history, the indicator fell below 300 points. Initially, in 2007, it was worth 1000 points *.

For a long time on the Warsaw Stock Exchange there was not such a weak month for companies of the electrical industry. Reflecting their quotations, the index fell by 11.4 per cent, and the May increase was completed by only three companies from 22 listed companies.

On March 12 this year in the University of Warsaw Library held the 2nd Industry Conference "A good change in LED lighting - we focus on quality". The event was organized by the Union of Lighting Equipment Manufacturers "Pol-lighting". It is a cyclical meeting of representatives of the lighting industry with investors planning modernization of lighting or making a new installation.
The main goal of the event was to promote high-quality LED technology, which guarantees the energy-saving effect and at the same time the safety and comfort of users.
Industry on the stock exchange with increases

From mid-January to mid-February, the listed Elektrosystems Index remained in the upward trend for the second time in a row. The improvement was definitely more pronounced than in the two previous monthly periods. The declines recorded only the lighting segment.

Only a few decades ago, the control of electric home furnishings was limited to switching on and dimming individual lamps. And group control (usually via a normalized analog signal 0-10V) was used, almost exclusively, in special facilities, eg in theaters. Progressive electronization has rapidly expanded the control ranges. Wireless pilots and various control systems have appeared. In addition to light bulbs and fluorescent lamps, new sources of light appeared like halogens, and later LED light sources.

The editors of the Electric Market have conducted a survey on business moods in the lighting industry after 2018. The survey was sent to the 43 largest companies operating in Poland, dealing in the production and distribution of lighting equipment and installation of lighting installations.

The year 2018 was not successful for shareholders of companies from the electrical industry. The average drop in their quotations was 30%. This is a much worse result than the WIG change (-9.5%), but it coincides with the decline in sWIGSO quotations, an index grouping small companies from the Warsaw Stock Exchange (and this includes the vast majority of companies from the sector).
