We are helping in the fight against the coronavirus
06 April 2020
Using our experience in international operations and our contacts, our company has coordinated the entire purchase process and preparation for the transport of 50 tons of personal protective equipment to Poland, including:
- 1,000,000 gloves,
- 150,000 masks,
- 35,000 goggles,
- 25,000 complete protective suits,
- 4,000 face shields.
The equipment purchased and imported to Poland is necessary to ensure the safety of employees of Lubusz Voivodeship medical facilities and services who stand every day on the front line of the fight for our health.
“The current situation is presenting us with many challenges, which is why we have to unite and help each other to face them, especially in these difficult times. Help can be provided in many ways, and it is most effective when we make use of the best skills we have available to us. In our case, such skills definitely include cooperation with foreign partners and carrying out large international projects. Using our many years of experience, contacts and the know-how of our team, we were able to effectively coordinate the purchase and import of necessary personal protective equipment for Lubusz Voivodeship medical facilities at the request of the local authorities of Lubusz Voivodeship and Zielona Góra, and this is certainly not our last word in the fight against the coronavirus. We are happy to have been able to contribute in this way to improving the safety of health professionals who are working tirelessly every day for our health and the health of our loved ones.” – says Ryszard Wtorkowski, President of the Management Board of LUG S.A.
Due to the progressive spread of the COVID-19 virus epidemic and the growing demand for personal protective equipment, it is often necessary to coordinate directly with foreign producers and logistics operators to complete orders for the quantities necessary for medical facilities. Our experience, knowledge and appropriate resources enable us to carry out such processes efficiently even in such distant markets as China. At the same time, as Mariusz Ejsmont, Vice-President of the Management Board of LUG S.A. who coordinated the project for Lubusz Voivodeship and the City of Zielona Góra, emphasised, “We are ready to offer the same level of assistance to other regions as we did in the case of Lubusz Voivodeship and Zielona Góra. We are eager to engage our know-how and resources in our joint effort to fight the coronavirus.”
